Visit of Indian Junior Hockey Team to Buenos Aires 8-14 December

The Junior ( under 21 ) Hockey team of India will play a Test series against Argentina on 8, 9, 11, and 13 December and will play against Holland on 12 December.

The matches will be held at Ciudad de Buenos Aires Club, Av. Libertador 7501 - Nuñez 

The Indian team won the opening match against Argentina by 3-2 on 8 December. The second game on 9 December was a 1:1 draw

Visit of Maradona to Calcutta 6-7 December 2008

Maradona has been invited to inagurate a sports complex which has been named after him. He will witness a football match between two special teams with all the best footballers of India.He will also visit the Indian Football Academy and interact with the players.

A grand reception is being held on 6 december to honour Maradona. This will be attended by the Chief minister of West bengal and the External Affairs Minister of India besides other dignitaries.

Festival of India in Buenos Aires 21- 28 November 2008

The embassy organised this festival at Centro Cultural Borges, Buenos Aires.The festival includes handicrafts exihibition, live demonstration of handicraft- making by eight Indian artisans, dance and music performances ( by a 6 - member Kathak dance group and a 10-member Rajasthani Folk Dance group ) , food festival, film festival, seminars on yoga, ayurveda, meditation etc and painting and foto exihibitions. The Export promotion Council for Handicrafts is the main sponsor of the event. The Food festival was held in Sheraton Buenos Aires.

Barbara has been contracted to act in the bilingual film ( english and hindi ) Kites. This film will be shot across Los Angeles, Las Vegas and New Mexico. The film is scheduled to be released in mid 2009.

Barbara Mori, born in Montevideo, Uruguay lives in Mexico. She has acted in Mexican telenovelas and movies. In.Kites, Barbara Mori plays the character of a salsa dancer. The film is an intense love story with a lot of dancing.

Aaliptha Software company of India has got a seven million dollar subcontract for implementation of Temenos software in an Argentine bank

This is for banking solutions to the Argentine Credit Coop bank. Temenos provides the software and Aaliptha does the implementation and maintenance.
