This was launched on 9 June during the business seminar. The executive committee of this consists of Indian companies which have invested in Argentina and the Argentine companies which export over 50 million dollars a year. The membership of the Chamber will include argentine importers, exporters and consultants.The Administrative committee has the following office-bearers: Mauricio de la Canal ( Reposo) - President, Francisco Okecki ( Cellent)- vice president, Tarak Ghosh ( First Source) - vice president, Saroj Nayak( synthesis quimica)- treasurer, Sergio lais( honorary consul of india) and Fabiana Dimase - executive director.

Mr Gopal Pillai, the Commerce Secretary will have meetings ( 10 June) with Mr Chiradia, the Secretary of Foreign Trade of Argentina. They will discuss bilateral, regional and multilateral trade issues and promotion of investment and joint ventures.
He will come with a business delegation of 20 members of which 10 are manufacturers and exporters of chemicals and dyestuffs. meetings with the chemical delegates are being organised by a Fabiana ( Fay ) of Asiana Consulting fay.asiana@gmail.com
Confederation of Indian Industry is bringing a 10 member delegation covering IT, banking software, pharma packaging, logistics and agrochemicals sectors. Meetings with these delegates are being organised by Marcelo, commercial officer of the embassy.
One-on-one business meetings will be held with the visiting business delegates on 9 June from 1500 hrs to 1800 hrs and on 10 june 1100 hrs to 1800 hrs at Hotel Sheraton.
Seminar on " opportunities for business with India" on 9 June at 1030 hrs at Hotel Sheraton, Retiro
This is being organised in collaboration with Argentine Chamber of Commerce, Argentine Union of Industries Prosperar and FundexpoAR. The Commerce Secretary of India and his Argentine counterpart will address the seminar. A representative of Export Import Bank of India will make a presentation on the financing of trade, investment and joint ventures by the bank.
Visit of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar from the Art of Living Foundation 12-18 May to Argentina.
This is the fifth visit of Guru Ravishankar. He gave lectures on meditation,corporate ethics and human values in Buenos Aires. He gave a talk to corporate executives at Hotel Sheraton on 13 May at 4 pm. He was received by Mayor Macri on 13 May and by the Vice President at the Senate on 15 May. He visited Patagonia.

Visit of Textiles Minister of India 6-9 April 2008
Shri Shankarsinh Vaghela. Textile Minister was in Buenos Aires with a handicrafts delegation. He met Argentine Economy Minister Mr Martin Lousteau on 8 April. The Embassy organised a presentation on Handicrafts at Hotel Sheraton, Retiro on 8 April at 1930 hrs in collaboration with the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts..This event, which was followed by dinner, was attended by about 200 guests. Nestor Saravia played Sitar and the disciples of Myrta Barwi performed Indian classical dance Bharatnatyam and Kuchipudi.

Business delegations from India
Eleven Indian companies participated in the Argentine Plastic Fair at La Rural 25-29 March. They displayed a wide range of plastic items.
Another business delegation of 8 members visited Buenos Aires from 31 March to 2 April. These companies offer products such as autoparts, marble, stones, rubber items, laboratory and hospital items, condoms, chemicals, safety matches and fireworks .

The Foreign Minister of Argentina Mr Jorge Taiana and Minister of State for External Affairs of India jointly inagurated. The disciples of Myrta Barwie performed Indian classical dance during the event. A reception followed the inaguration.
The Minister had meetings with Argentine government on 8 february.
In Uruguay, he had meetings with the President and Foreign Minister on 11 february. He signed a Bilateral Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement with Uruguay.
Cellent www.cellent.com has bought the Argentine company " Net People", founded by three young Argentine enterpreneurs(Antonia Pena, Francisco Okecki and Jose Ugarte), who have now become part of Cellent, which specialises in software for mobile phones.
The Argentines are going to contribute not only to the Argentine and Latin American business of Cellent but also to development of new technologies including in collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai. They have a team of six people but have plans to expand including in Uruguay. Cellent is the fifth Indian IT company to establish operations in Argentina after TCS, First Source, Crisil/Irevna and Cognizant.
The Governor showed interest in attracting Indian investment. The Ambassador invited the Governor to visit India with a business delegation.
